Koncept 54 smyslů byl vyvinut Michael J. Cohen, který rozšířil tradiční pět smyslů (čich, chuť, sluch, hmat a zrak) na 54 různých smyslových zážitků - rozšiřující emocionální, tělesnou, fyzickou i hormonální citlivost. Tato koncepce má za cíl lépe popsat různorodost našich smyslů a zvýšit povědomí o tom, jak vnímáme svět kolem sebe.

27. Sense of fear, dread of injury, death or attack.
